Nomatsigenga indigenous people in the Peruvian Amazonia
Marisela is a 25yr old woman who organized & now leads a co-op of 6 women that sew, embroider and sell hand-made masks, hair elastics and bags. She started her business in 2020 with the help of a friend of a friend that traveled from Lima to the Amazonian community to teach them how to sew, embroider and die fabrics.
With the profits, these women are able to help their families to cover day-to-day expenses.
